DeWalt SxS Australian Championship

Round 4 at Mafeking Rover Park, Caveat, VIC on Saturday 26 Oct 2019 SxS (Side by Side) racing is a type of racing done by 4x4 duel-seat offroad vehicles. Basically, the drivers compete against each other on dirt tracks with jumps and tight corners to navigate. Of course, being the Einstein that I am, I didn't know anything about it when my friend and I discussed it.....so I had to google it! I love a good free event anyway, I really just go to events to take photos, so naturally I agreed to go!

5 Heats were raced throughout the day, then semi finals, then the grand final (then the awards). They had a 'Joker Lane', a straight track down that was quicker, which could only be used by each driver once per race.

As clueless as I was before getting there, it was actually really good to watch. There were a few weather issues, it was cold as heck and we got rained and hailed on at one point. There were also a few dramas on the track, even as much as the casualty of a wheel and a bit of a rollover!
